The second edition of Valle Fest will bring together gastronomy, culture, and tradition on March 2 at Rancho Arroyo Hondo.
What is Valle Fest?
With the goal of strengthening gastronomic tourism and showcasing the rich culinary heritage of the Mexicali Valley, the Baja California Ministry of Tourism invites locals and visitors to the second edition of Valle Fest – The Mexicali Valley Gastronomic Festival.
The event will take place on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Rancho Arroyo Hondo, offering free admission and running from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
A Culinary Experience Like No Other
Attendees will have the opportunity to indulge in a diverse selection of regional dishes, including:
- Carnitas al Chipotle
- Cahuacerdo (a traditional pork dish unique to the region)
- Traditional Cucapah cuisine
- Hot dogs, Mexicali Valley style
- Craft beer tastings
One of the most anticipated moments of the festival is the “Date Dish Competition,” which celebrates the date fruit, a signature ingredient of the Mexicali Valley.

Beyond Gastronomy: A Celebration of Culture and Tradition
In addition to its gastronomic offerings, Valle Fest will feature a variety of recreational and cultural activities, including:
- Horseback rides
- Dancing horse exhibitions
- Off-road vehicle displays
- Folkloric dance performances
- Live music
The festival will also pay tribute to Mexicali producer Álvaro Cárdenas Iribe, recognizing his contributions to the region.
The event will conclude with a special musical performance by Los Cadetes de Linares, bringing an authentic regional touch to the celebration.
