At the center of this concept is Víctor Vázquez, a stylist with over 16 years of experience. His passion for beauty began in his teenage years, when he first arrived in the United States from Mexico. Like many immigrants, this transition pushed him to make a life-defining decision.
“I was always a dedicated kid. From a young age I was fascinated by beauty, how women were styled, how men got their hair cut. But living in the U.S., you’re forced to choose between studying and working. Still, I always found my way back to what I love.”
After over two decades abroad, Víctor returned to Mexico and found in Tijuana the perfect opportunity to reinvent himself. Despite the negative image of the city he had been exposed to in the U.S., he discovered a vibrant, talented, and open-minded Tijuana.
“Living in Tijuana was never in my plans. In the U.S., they only show you the worst of Mexico. But when I got here, I realized how much this city has to offer. It’s where I finally made my dream of owning my own place come true.”

The Penthouse isn’t just a salon for women, it also proudly serves men. Tucked inside is The Secret Barber Shop, a space designed for men who value premium service in a relaxed, comfortable setting.
“I wanted to create a space where men feel good, like home away from home. Time is limited here, but the service is complete. Haircut, beard grooming, men’s manicure, massage, hot towels… all in 75 minutes. We want every client to relax, enjoy, and know they’re in good hands.”
Beyond its premium offerings, The Secret Barber Shop also aims to break stereotypes. Many clients arrive assuming certain services are “just for women,” but the experience often changes their minds.
“A lot of men walk in saying, ‘I’m your typical macho Mexican.’ But after the full service, they’re so relaxed they don’t want to leave. They love being pampered, without losing an ounce of their masculinity.”

“I may dream big, but I want to build something lasting. I’m creating a team of educators within our stylists so we can all keep growing and keep offering something new every day. We want to be known for who we are, for what we offer, and for how much we love doing it.”
