Tijuana, B.C. — The city is preparing for four days of national pride with the arrival of Expo Tequila Tijuana 2025, which will celebrate its 24th edition from October 16 to 19 at its new venue, Plaza Río Tijuana. The event continues to promote tequila as a symbol of identity, tradition, and economic strength for the region.
This year marks 25 years of Expo Tequila’s history — a legacy defined by cultural promotion, support for national producers, and the creation of a space where lovers of tequila, gastronomy, and music come together.

Over 200 Tequilas on Display: A Tasting of Mexico in One Place
This year’s edition will feature over 200 tequila labels from leading distilleries in Jalisco, Nayarit, and Guanajuato, as well as independent producers who are setting new trends in the craft spirits scene.
Attendees will be able to explore a wide range of styles — from young blancos to aged and extra añejos with premium profiles — including bottles with denomination of origin and experimental tequilas aged in wine or rum barrels.
Each master distiller will offer guided tastings, pairings, and educational sessions where guests can learn about agave varieties, distillation techniques, and the artistry behind every bottle.
The goal is to reconnect visitors with the cultural and artisanal roots of tequila while promoting a message of responsible enjoyment.

The Agave Pavilion: Mexico’s Spirit Diversity
A major highlight this year will be the Agave Pavilion, a new area celebrating the richness of Mexican spirits. It will bring together producers of mezcal, sotol, bacanora, and raicilla, offering visitors an expanded sensory experience beyond tequila.
And for those seeking something refreshing with full agave flavor, Cantaritos El Chamuco — winner of “Best Cocktail in Tijuana” — will be serving its signature drink alongside three mixology stands offering contemporary agave-inspired creations.

The Grill Meets the Agave: Northern Flavor at Its Best
This year, the aroma of the grill will join the essence of agave. The Asociación de Parrilleros Norteños (APN) will participate with a special live cooking showcase that promises to be one of the event’s biggest attractions.
Four competitive teams — each made up of ten professional grill masters — will cook live throughout the four days, serving tastings of premium cuts, ribs, and charcoal-grilled artisan chorizo, all perfectly paired with a good tequila.
The APN aims to celebrate the “carnita asada” tradition as a cultural expression of northern Mexico — bringing together families, friends, and gastronomy. The grillers will also compete for the title of “Best Asado at Expo Tequila 2025”, chosen by public vote.

A Festive Atmosphere
While tequila and gastronomy take center stage, music will fill the air. The program includes mariachi bands, norteño and sierreño groups, folkloric ballet performances, and the Tuna Femenil from UABC, creating a lively atmosphere throughout the event.
