The scoring opened in the 25th minute, when Héctor Herrera set up Luan García with a header, allowing him to finish inside the box and give the Diablos Rojos the lead. Just minutes later, at 31’, Paulinho extended the advantage with a precise shot across goal following a quick buildup inside the opposing area.
Before halftime, Isaías Violante made it 3-0 in the 37th minute with a well-placed shot, while Alexis Vega fired an unstoppable long-range strike into the top corner at 43’, bringing the score to 4-0.
In the 89th minute, Robert Morales sealed the rout, tapping in a Jesús Angulo cross to complete the 5-0 thrashing.
Toluca dominated possession with 75.7%, registering 11 shots on target, while Querétaro managed just two shots on goal.
