
Embark on a 96-kilometer trek through breathtaking landscapes, following an ancestral route of the Kumiai community for an unforgettable adventure in Baja California.
This impressive hike stretches from Sierra de Juárez to Valle de Guadalupe in San Antonio Necua, crossing remote and uncharted Kumiai lands. Organized by Baja Travesies in collaboration with Centinela Hiking, this three-day expedition will take place from March 21 to March 23, 2025.

Expedition Itinerary
Day 1: Laguna Japa to Juntas de Neji
- Distance: 33 km
- Duration: 8-9 hours (7:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
- Terrain: Rural roads, creek beds, canyons
Highlights: The trek begins in Laguna Japa, passing through plains and oak forests before reaching the Kumiai community of Neji, where participants will camp for the first night.

Day 2: Juntas de Neji to Santa Clara
- Distance: 28 km
- Duration: 10 hours (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
- Terrain: Trails and dirt roads
- Highlights: This segment crosses oak forests and the Las Calabazas creek, descending into a ranch surrounded by mesquites, leading to the Santa Clara campsite.

Day 3: Santa Clara to San Antonio Necua
- Distance: 35 km
- Duration: 10 hours (5:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
- Terrain: Trails, creek beds, rural roads
- Highlights: The final stretch offers spectacular views of the transition from mountains to valleys, passing through Laguna de Valle Seco and Rancho La Bellota, before culminating in San Antonio Necua with a traditional Kumiai ceremony.
