San Diego

A vibrant preview full of flavor, culture, and fun that celebrates the connection between humans and pets at the 2025 San Diego County Fair.

On Thursday, May 29, media and press were invited to experience an exclusive sneak peek of the highly anticipated 2025 San Diego County Fair, which this year carries the theme “Paws at the Fair.” The event, titled “A Taste of the Fair,” took place at the Paddock in the Del Mar Fairgrounds, offering a colorful, flavor-packed glimpse of what awaits from June 11 to July 6.

A Preview of the Most “Pawsome” Fair of the Summer

Set in a lively, high-energy atmosphere, guests were treated to a sample of the Fair’s famously diverse culinary offerings, featuring wild, unexpected dishes that were undeniably delicious.

From pickle lemonade, fresh fruit bowls, to fair favorites like bagels, “volcano fries” topped with meat and spices, and cherry-chocolate desserts, the food highlighted the multicultural fusion that makes this event so unique. A Mexican flair was front and center, with instant ramen served in custom cups and cheesy chili Tostitos bringing the heat.

More Than Food: Culture, Entertainment, and Awareness

The event also included performances by youth groups in celebration of Native American Heritage Day, pet adoption campaigns with friendly pups available for meet-and-greets, and even a parakeet show that wowed the crowd. The 2025 San Diego County Fair pays tribute to the special bond between humans and their pets in partnership with the San Diego Humane Society, offering themed exhibits and activities to educate and engage with our furry companions.

Interactive Stands and Fun for All

Every booth and table brought something special; mini games, giveaways, and branded keepsakes like sunglasses and DIY cardboard toys, turning the experience into a playful and interactive one.

Highlights included Farmacias Roma, connecting with attendees who frequently cross the border, and a dog food brand offering free samples for pets. K-pop fans enjoyed a dedicated booth filled with dance sessions, collectibles, and themed decor, while little ones had the chance to pet cows and sheep, connecting with the agricultural roots of the fair.

Art and Creativity on Display

Local students showcased their talents through sculptures, paintings, and floral arrangements that decorated the venue, adding a layer of artistic flair to the day’s delicious and dynamic atmosphere.

A Family-Friendly Invitation

This early look at the fair gave press and guests a firsthand taste of the richness and variety that the 2025 San Diego County Fair will offer. The event expects to welcome close to a million visitors over its 20-day run. While pets are not allowed inside the fairgrounds due to safety regulations, the fair offers countless ways to celebrate and learn about our loyal animal companions.

Don’t miss this summer celebration that combines food, culture, entertainment, and animal love, happening June 11 to July 6 (closed Mondays and Tuesdays) in Del Mar, from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. (exhibits and sales close at 10:00 p.m.).
