The Kings League Américas is revolutionizing soccer in Latin America with innovative rules, famous streamers, and fast-paced matches.
Since its launch in 2022, the Kings League has emerged as one of the most groundbreaking and widely followed 7-a-side soccer competitions today. Created by former footballer Gerard Piqué in collaboration with streamer Ibai Llanos and other content creators, this league blends traditional soccer with innovative rules and a dominant digital presence, fueling its rapid growth on platforms like Twitch and YouTube.
What sets the Kings League apart is its dynamic and modern approach. Unlike conventional tournaments, it incorporates game-changing elements that make every match unpredictable and thrilling.
Teams can use special cards that alter the flow of the game, enabling actions such as extra penalties, double-value goals for a limited time, or temporary expulsions for opposing players.
With matches lasting 40 minutes (divided into two 20-minute halves), the format ensures a fast-paced, engaging spectacle for viewers.
Each team is led by a well-known figure from the world of soccer, streaming, or social media. Some of the biggest names include Kun Agüero, Iker Casillas, Ibai Llanos, DjMaRiiO, and TheGrefg, among others.
Following its massive success in Spain, the Kings League expanded its innovative format to Latin America. In January 2024, the Kings League Américas was officially launched, based in Mexico City. During its first split, matches were played at the Kings League Arena in Quarry Studios. From the second split onward, the competition moved to the Domo Kings & Queens League at Universidad Intercontinental, Campus Sur.
By combining entertainment, digital interaction, and a distinct playing style, the Kings League has redefined how soccer is consumed by new generations of fans.
