León Femenil Triumphs in a Thrilling Battle Against Xolos

In a high-intensity clash on Matchday 10 of the Liga BBVA MX Femenil Clausura 2025, Xolos Femenil hosted León at Estadio Caliente. Despite a strong late-game response, the home team couldn’t avoid a hard-fought defeat.

From the opening whistle, Xolos came out aggressively, creating multiple scoring opportunities with shots from different angles. However, their finishing lacked precision, and just when they were at their best, León struck first.

In the 23rd minute, Linda Bravo capitalized on a defensive lapse, unleashing a powerful long-range shot that curled into the right post of goalkeeper Alexa Madueño, sending León into halftime with a narrow 1-0 lead.

The second half saw both teams pushing forward, but it was León who found the back of the net again. In the 69th minute, Sindia Arteaga delivered a spectacular strike from distance, beating the Xolos goalkeeper to double the visitors’ lead.

Despite the setback, Xolos never gave up, and their persistence paid off in the 82nd minute. Hildah Magaia broke through the defense and finished clinically, bringing Tijuana back into the fight.

However, León responded immediately. Just two minutes later, Arteaga secured her brace with a well-placed shot after receiving a perfect through pass, restoring León’s two-goal advantage.

In the 89th minute, Magaia once again made her presence felt, slotting a precise shot into the bottom right corner, keeping Xolos’ hopes alive. But time ran out, and León held on for a 3-2 victory in an exhilarating match.

Xolos Femenil will visit Puebla at Estadio Cuauhtémoc on Sunday, March 9, looking to bounce back.
León Femenil will host Querétaro at Nou Camp, aiming to continue their climb up the standings.
